Peach Cobbler


This peach cobbler is by far the easiest dessert to make with ingredients most of us have readily available and so fast (plus it's best eaten straight out of the oven) that it's perfect for last minute invites.



Preheat oven to 375F

While preheating, melt 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter in 9x13 baking dish

Combine
  • 1 cup    Flour
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 TB     Baking powder
  • Pinch    Salt
Add

  • 1 cup    Milk
Stir by hand just until dry ingredients are moistened

Pour batter over butter (do not stir!)

 
 
Bring
 
  • 3/4 cup    Sugar
  • 4 cups      Peach slices (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 TB        Lemon Juice
 
to a boil over high heat stirring constantly.
 
 
 
Pour over batter (do not stir)
 
 
Bake 30-35 min. or until golden brown (if the edges start getting too dark, cover with aluminum foil for the remaining time). Let cool for a few minutes, serve warm with vanilla ice cream & whipped cream.
